The Polish Government has designated 2009 the year of promotion of Polish culture in the UK. Inspired by this the Nottingham based charity, The Signpost to Polish Success, decided to promote the culture of the new arrivals and celebrate diverse and cosmopolitan Nottingham by organising
FESTIWAL 2009 - A Community Festival with a Polish flavour.

There will be music, a sports zone, activities for children, stalls with Polish
and other foods/products as well as boutique/artisan and information stalls.

FESTIWAL 2009 will attract people from across the East Midlands and attendance figures
are expected to be in the thousands. FESTIWAL 2009 organisers, The Signpost
to Polish Success, see the event as "a unique opportunity to bring together
people from different culturesand age groups with the aim of
promoting racial and generational harmony."

The event will be compared by the Polish Radio
presenter Paweł Sztompke from Poland’s Radio 1.
He will be assisted by representatives of
the Signpost to Polish Success.
